What is a Therapy Group?

It is a format of psychotherapeutic meetings where people gather in a consistent, small circle to increase awareness, explore themselves deeper, and develop within a suitable environment.

Such an environment is provided by the psychotherapist: they cultivate respect among participants, sincerity, and awareness of the ongoing processes.

What is the main difference from individual therapy?

Individual therapy Group therapy

The core value of the group is the rich diversity of relationships—something that simply doesn't exist in a one-on-one setting.

A single psychotherapist cannot embody every human quality. In a group, the rich diversity of participants allows you to explore how you relate to different types of people—uncovering parts of yourself that might otherwise remain hidden for a long time even in individual therapy.

The comprehensive review of the empirical literature leads to an inescapable conclusion: Group psychotherapy is a robust, versatile, and highly effective treatment modality that stands on equal footing with individual therapy.

It is the relationship that heals.

Who is it for and when is it effective?

Group therapy is effective in the same situations as individual therapy and, with very few exceptions, suits a wide range of people—from those just beginning their therapeutic journey to those who have already made significant progress in self-discovery.

With this in mind, those newer to therapy may benefit more from themed groups focused around specific topics (e.g. group for dads), while more experienced participants can explore general therapy groups that address a broader range of topic

Relationship discord or loneliness
Lack of interest
Loss of a loved one
Deep-seated needs:
A search for self-realization
A desire for personal growth
The need to share complex experiences with others

Reasons to join

This group offers a space where fathers can navigate this terrain together: sharing honestly about what's actually happening, finding recognition in each other's struggles, and discovering that vulnerability isn't weakness — it's the doorway to deeper connection, both with ourselves and with our children.

When a man becomes a father, a new identity awakens within him. For many, this marks not an arrival, but the beginning of a profound journey.

As the relationship with the child deepens, so do the challenges: moments of doubt, feelings of inadequacy, unexpected fears. The child becomes a mirror reflecting back not only our strengths, but also our unhealed wounds and hidden limitations. Yet within this reflection lies an invitation — to grow, to mature, to see life anew.

Each time we meet these challenges, something valuable emerges: a fresh perception of life, a deeper maturity, a truer understanding of ourselves. And perhaps most precious of all — the opportunity to build one of the deepest relationships possible.

Reasons to join

In this group, you'll share the reality of life away from home with others who understand without explanation. Together, we explore the difficult feelings — loneliness, disorientation, grief for what was left behind — as well as sharing the delightful moments, and discover new ways to create meaning, connection, and belonging in the life you're building here.

All backgrounds, experiences, and reasons for being here are welcome.

Moving to another country changes you in ways you don't expect. The ground beneath your feet feels different — not just literally, but in every sense. What once felt natural now requires effort. What was once home is now "back home."

You learn a new language, navigate unfamiliar systems, decode unspoken rules. You make new friends while old friendships fade into video calls across time zones. You celebrate achievements no one here witnessed, and grieve losses no one here understands.

Some days you feel brave and adventurous. Other days you feel exhausted and lonely, caught between two worlds, not fully belonging to either.

This in-between space — neither here nor there — can feel isolating. But it's also where something unexpected can happen: you discover parts of yourself you never knew existed. You find strength you didn't know you had. You build a life that's uniquely yours, shaped by multiple places and experiences.

A classical dynamic group where participants interact in an open format, without being tied to a specific topic.

This implies a greater amount of uncertainty, which in turn gives the potential for those internal processes that remain more hidden from consciousness to manifest.

It is most suitable for those who have already had experience of individual therapy, or are psychotherapists themselves.
